Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Okanogan County Assistant Fire Chief Christian Johnson, who died on Wednesday, October 2, 2019, at Harborview Medical Center a month after sustaining severe burns while battling the Spring Coulee Fire. Assistant Chief Johnson was a retired Army veteran and had served as a firefighter with Okanogan County for 20 years.

First Responders Appreciation Breakfast 2019

The North Central Washington Chaplain Foundation hosted the 4th Annual First Responders Appreciation Breakfast at Awaken Church on May 7, 2019. The attendees were local police, fire fighters, 911 dispatchers and EMS personnel. The keynote speaker was Chelan County Deputy Nigel Hunter. Raffle prizes were given out, as well as souvenir mugs.
