The annual ‘Chief For A Day Celebration’ was held on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Memorial Park in Wenatchee. The Washington State Patrol, Chelan and Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Wenatchee Police Department, Fish and Wildlife, and East Wenatchee Police Department participated in the event. Each agency celebrates the lives of chronically ill and/or terminally ill children and appoints one of these children to represent their law enforcement agency as the Chief For A Day. The North Central Washington Chaplain Foundation chaplains participated in the event giving the invocation and assisting the children and their families. The North Central Washington Chaplain Foundation held its Annual First Responders Appreciation Breakfast at Awaken Church in Wenatchee on May 9, 2018. Attendees included Chelan and Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputies, Wenatchee Police Officers, Washington State Patrol Troopers, River Com 911 personnel, Chelan and Douglas County Fire and Rescue Fire Fighters, and various department staff personnel. The event is held annually and seeks to honor those in Fire and Law Enforcement service. Breakfast was served to those in attendance and raffle prizes were given out. The keynote speaker was, Washington State Patrol Trooper Jeff Eiffert. Below are pictures of the event.
Chaplain Jay Caron and Darren Crutchfield recently attend the International Conference of Police Chaplains Conference which was held at the Cannon Beach Christian Conference Center, located in Cannon Beach, Oregon. The training was held from February 5th – 8th. The keynote speaker was Jeff Kemp, former National Football League quarterback. Some of the training topics included; Psychological First Aid, Why is Stress so Stressful, and Suicide. This chaplain training will equip us to better serve our first responders and victims in crisis.
