The woman in the picture with a police officer is Helen Johnson from Tarrant, Alabama. She was caught stealing at a nearby Dollar General and subsequently the police were called to arrest her. Upon arriving to the store the police officer asked her what she had stole. Helen replied, “five eggs to feed my children”. Instead of arresting Helen, the officer went to the grocery store and purchased food and gave it to Helen to feed her children and herself. Helen started crying and told the officer, “Sir, this is too much for you have done for me…”. The officer replied, “Sometimes we shouldn’t apply the law, but must apply the humanity”.
“This is what the Lord Almighty said: Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another”. Zechariah 7:9 NIV
